Who you are dealing with. This website and the reader list are operated by 88Away LLC, the publisher of Dot Merriweather’s books. Using the site means dealing with the publisher, not with any character in the books.

The stories are fiction. Butternut Lane, the Cedar Falls in these pages, and everyone who lives there are imaginary. Any resemblance to real people or places is a happy coincidence.

What you may do. Read the free story on this site as often as you like. Print the sample pages we offer for your own use or for a reading circle or activity group — they are made to be printed, in black and white if need be. Quote a sentence or two with credit, the way you would quote any book.

What you may not do. Copy, repost, resell or redistribute the stories, the drawings or the cover art in whole or in substantial part; scrape the story text to republish it elsewhere; or present any part of them as your own. The books themselves are sold as books, and the free sample stays a sample.

No promises about porches. The site and its free pages are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. Nothing here is medical, legal or financial advice, and no story is a promise about memory, health or anything else.

Where disputes live. These terms are governed by the law of the State of New York, United States.

Dot Merriweather is a pen name. 88Away LLC is the publisher and the operator of this website and the reader list, and the postal and contact points in the footer are the publisher’s.

There is no advertising on this site and no affiliate or paid placement of any kind. When a retailer link for the book appears, it will be a plain link to the book’s page, and this paragraph will say so.
