What this site keeps, and what it never asks for.

No cookies. This site sets no cookies at all. It keeps three small notes in your own browser’s storage — your reading size, your contrast choice, and where you stopped in the free story — so the page remembers you between visits. Those notes never leave your device, and clearing your browser storage removes them.

Counting readers, not tracking them. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is first-party and cookieless. It counts pages and a few plain events (a story opened, a question drawn, a seat saved). It does not follow you to other sites, and it deliberately ignores automated traffic.

The reader list. Today the signup form on this site confirms in your browser and stores nothing on any server. When a mailing service is connected, the list will hold only what you type into the form, it will be used for Dot’s letters and nothing else, it will never be sold, shared, merged or cross-mailed with any other list, and every letter carries one click to leave.

Letters you write. If you email Dot, a person at the publisher reads it and answers it. Your address is used to reply and for nothing else.

No ads, no pixels from advertisers, no sale of data. There is nothing on this site to opt out of, because there is nothing of the kind to begin with.
